Amelia Island Book Festival

Book lovers of all ages flock to Amelia Island every February to enjoy the Amelia Island Book Festival.  Now in its 18th year, the festival offers readers a chance to meet and mingle with their favorite authors in a variety of venues. Things get started at noon on Thursday, February 15, with the Kick-Off Luncheon at Walker's Landing on Amelia Island Plantation.  The keynote speaker will be New York Times best-selling author Adriana Trigiani, who will discuss her writing career, strokes of good fortune and her latest book, Kiss Carlo.  She will be introduced by international Best Selling author David Baldacci. On Friday, February 16, aspiring writers can learn from one of the best as Steve Berry will conduct a Writer's Workshop: Lessons from a Bestseller at the FSCJ Nassau campus from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.  A New York Times and #1 international best-selling author of more than 16 books, Steve and his wife and business partner, Elizabeth Berry, run this intense workshop for authors and would-be authors of every genre to support Authors in Schools Literacy Program.  Also on Friday, the Authors in School program will take place in all 15 Nassau County public schools.  This  free event brings a presenting author to each school and provides the authors' books for students. On Friday evening from 6 to 10 p.m., experience the Author Face-Off Gala to support Authors in Schools.  This event, held at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation resort, is always a fan favorite, and features a gourmet sit-down dinner, live auction and a lineup of bestselling authors including Lee Child, Jennifer Armentrout, Karin Slaughter and Sherry Rinker - all led by Festival Honorary Chairman Steve Berry. The festival concludes on Saturday, February 17 with the Author Expo/Readers Extravaganza from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Fernandina Beach Middle School. This family festival and celebration of the written word is open to everyone - with free admission and free parking, and plenty of food, fun, entertainment and activities. There will be contests with prizes for kids and adults throughout the day, along with world-renowned author presentations, breakout sessions and book signings and book sales.  For the latest information on the festival schedule, and to purchase tickets, please visit
